Casual GP Appointments
Casual GP Appointments — When You Need Us, We’re Here
Not quite ready to formally enrol your medical records with us? No problem at all—our clinical team is highly flexible and happy to treat casual, non-enrolled patients as well.
You can easily book a convenient casual visit for:
- General GP consultations and medical checks
- Comprehensive skin cancer examinations
- In-clinic minor surgical procedures
- Professional ear wax microsuction removal
- Pre-travel medicine assessments and vaccinations
Please Note: Casual patient appointments are strictly subject to daily clinic availability. For guaranteed priority access and optimal continuity of medical care, we always recommend formally enrolling as a member of the 1Health Club.
Your Commitment, Our Promise
At 1Health, we are deeply committed to providing a supportive, safe, and respectful environment where our clinical team can deliver the best possible medical outcomes—and where every patient feels genuinely valued, safe, and heard. To help us achieve this standard, we ask all 1Health Club members and casual visitors to adhere to a few simple clinic expectations:
Respectful Clinic Environment
We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of verbal abuse, aggression, or disrespect directed towards our medical staff, administrative teams, or fellow patients. We are uncompromised in maintaining a safe, calm, and welcoming space for everyone inside our Wigram facility.
Appointment Times And Consultations
We want every single consultation to feel unhurried and entirely focused on what matters most to your health. For clinical safety and quality, our standard appointments are designed to cover one main medical concern. This ensures your doctor has the dedicated time required to take a comprehensive history, perform a physical examination, and answer your questions properly.
If you have a list of multiple health concerns, please inform our reception team when you book. We can easily schedule extra time or arrange a structured follow-up appointment so that each individual issue is given the deep clinical attention it deserves.
- Late Arrivals: Arriving late to your appointment directly disrupts the clinic schedule. Late arrivals may result in a significantly shortened consultation window or a mandatory rescheduling. A partial consultation fee may apply to cover the lost slot.
- Missed Appointments: To ensure fairness to all patients seeking urgent care, appointments changed or cancelled with less than four hours' prior notice will incur a $40.00 administration fee.
Payment Policy And Billing Terms
Full payment is strictly required at the time of your service. Accounts not settled within 14 days of your appointment will automatically incur a $10.00 administration charge. Overdue balances left unpaid may incur additional administrative charges to fully cover external debt collection recovery costs if necessary.
Out-Of-Consultation Services:
Please note that standard clinical fees apply for all medical emails, telephone communications, form completions, and clinical assessments conducted outside of your scheduled face-to-face consultation times.
Prescriptions And Medical Council Guidelines
Our doctors strictly follow the official Medical Council of New Zealand guidelines for all prescription allocations, particularly regarding controlled or habit-forming medications. In some cases, a comprehensive review of your historical medical records or a mandatory face-to-face consultation is required before a script can be safely generated.
Continuity Of Clinical Care
For optimal health outcomes, we strongly encourage active continuity of care by booking your appointments with the same general practitioner wherever possible. We also ask that all patients actively utilize our digital patient portal to stay securely updated on lab test results, clinical notes, and required follow-up actions.
New Patient Onboarding Process
Once you have submitted your digital enrolment, please note that it typically takes 2–4 weeks for your full medical history records to be securely transferred over from your previous general practice clinic.
You are entirely welcome to book a consultation with our Wigram team before these historical records arrive. Depending on your known health history or the baseline complexity of your concerns, an extended initial onboarding consultation may be recommended to ensure we establish a comprehensive care plan.
